President Dalia Grybauskaitė received the Apostolic Nuncio to Lithuania, Archbishop Luigi Bonazzi. The Apostolic Nuncio extended his congratulations to Dalia Grybauskaitė on assuming the important duties of President of Lithuania. "A good president is a blessing to the nation," Archbishop Bonazzi said.

Continuing her working visit to the Republic of Latvia, President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė met with Latvia's Speaker of Parliament Gundars Daudze and Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis in Riga.The meeting with the Speaker of Parliament focussed mainly on the development of inter-parliamentary relations. The parties of the meeting underlined the need to shape and discuss joint positions to be taken by legislative authorities (parliaments) of the two states within the European Union.
