President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended condolences, both personally and on behalf of the Lithuanian people, on the death of Zambian President Michael Sata. Dalia Grybauskaitė wished fortitude to President Michael Sata's family, friends and to the people of Zambia.
 
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Turkey on the occasion of Turkey's national holiday, Republic Day. In her message of congratulations, the President noted that relations between Lithuania and Turkey had grown much stronger over the past decades because the people of the two countries initiated and delivered many bilateral projects in culture, tourism, business, and other areas.
 
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Miloš Zeman of the Czech Republic on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day. In her message of congratulations, the President underlined that over the past two decades Lithuania and the Czech Republic had become close partners and allies working for the successful development of cooperation initiatives not only bilaterally, but also within the framework of the European Union and NATO.
 
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to Ukrainian people who expressed their will in snap elections to Ukraine's parliament on Sunday. According to the President, the Ukrainian people who are fighting for the freedom of their country have resolutely chosen a European path built on democratic reforms. It is a very important step in restoring stability and ensuring the well-being of the people of Ukraine, as well as building a strong and unified state.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended the welcoming ceremony for the arrival of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage vessel "Independence" in Klaipėda. This terminal is a guarantor of energy and geopolitical security that will ensure energy self-sufficiency and security of Lithuania. This is the first strategic project under the European Energy Security Strategy successfully implemented in the Baltic region. Taking part in the welcoming ceremony also are Prime Ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, members of the U.S. Senate, representatives from Norway, Estonia, Finland, Sweden and other EU member states and EU institutions.
 
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil on her re-election for a second term. "I sincerely wish that the trust and support given to you by the people of Brazil should bring you much resolve and commitment to pursue the work started as you lead your nation on the path of economic growth and further well-being. I wish you wisdom and determination in addressing economic and political stability issues as well as common security tasks that are important not only to Brazil, but also to the whole world," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
 
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations, on behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf, to President Heinz Fischer of the Republic of Austria on the occasion of Austrian National Day. According to the President, the relationship between Lithuania and Austria is based on growing mutual interest and respect.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė, currently attending a European Council meeting in Brussels, together with other EU leaders are discussing the economic situation in Europe and actions to boost the EU's economic growth and competitiveness. Economic issues topical to the EU and euro zone will also be debated at the euro area summit where Lithuania will be represented for the first time.

According to the President, a secure and democratic Ukraine is in the interest of the whole Europe. Therefore, upcoming parliamentary elections in this country must be held without outside interference and provocations.
